What is the fastest way to stop bleeding from slitting my finger with paper?

apply pressure, then a bandaid. Not too tightly though :) (the reason it hurts so much is that paper isn't sharp like a blade, the edges are rough so it slices the skin unevenly)

put a towel around it hold it vertically and apply pressure...you may need stitches if it is bleeding that bad...

Wash your hands well with soap and water, if available. Put on medical gloves, if available, before applying direct pressure to the wound. If gloves are not available, use many layers of clean cloth, plastic bags, or the cleanest material available between your hands and the wound. Have the injured person hold direct pressure on the wound, if possible, and elevate the injured area. Use your bare hands to apply direct pressure only as a last resort.

i've read somewhere that it will stop if you put some colorless nail polish on the wound...but i'm not sure if it works!
