Why is a laser printer printing all gray?

Printing: Why is paper warm when it comes out of a desktop Laser Jet printer?

  • Answer:

Laser printers use an electrostatic charge to get the toner to temporarily stick to the paper. Then the paper with toner goes through a heated drum to fuse (melt) the powder to the paper. This heats up the paper.

We are specialise in toners and inks so I am in a position to tell you the answer to your question, the reason that the paper come out warm is due to something called a "fuser" unit it is a high temperature component that allows the toner powder to fuse with the paper thus bonding the loose toner particles to the paper. And this is why your paper come out hot when it feeds through the printer. If for some reason the paper does not come out hot it generally means that the fuser has some issues your would be able to tell this by rubbing the paper where the text or image is printed this would then come off on your finger showing that something is wrong with your fuser. Hope this helps :)
