Easter is on its way. How many actually celebrate Easter?
-
And how do you celebrate?

Answer:
Your Answer: I celebrate Easter as in it's the time we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus. I attend church services (as I always do throughout out the year), sing in the choir (special songs for that time of year), and remind the kids in my Bible study class the reason for this time of the year's observation/celebration. Yeah, yeah, I know it's the same time as the pagan holiday, but that means SQUAT. We don't observe the pagan holiday. So you nut cases who want to rant and rave about that, save your time. It don't count. Since our Savior was Jewish, and Jews don't eat pork, why is it a tradition to eat ham on Easter? Just curious.

I don't really "celebrate". I've never liked Easter, even as a kid. I think it's because I was forced to wear a spring dress and then pose for pictures outdoors in the freezing cold. I'm always glad when Easter is over. And I've always wondered why Monday isn't a day off.

Sad to say I no longer celebrate the holidays as I no longer have little ones. Boy those were the most special days there was.

We attend the special Easter worship services at our church. This year we are having a play about the resurrection of Jesus with many songs. Easter egg hunts and Easter baskets full of goodies for the grandchildren.

We celebrate by having a family meal with all the trimmings. My mom still dyes eggs and puts together small Easter baskets for us and her grand kids. Maybe next year we will start back on the egg hunts since my grand daughter will be walking by then.

My husband and I love Easter. I fix Easter Baskets complete with colored eggs. I throw a brisket on the grill, make potato salad, baked beans, with all the trimmings. If we're lucky, the children and grandchildren can make the trip to visit (all of the children live out of town). But I miss the big Easter celebrations we had when we were young. Huge family dinner and Easter egg hunt at Grandmothers.

I don't. I used to celebrate it being double time if I had to work, but that's all.
