Is 60 too old to rollerskate?

No way ! My son's bus driver is 73 years young and she has in line skates I I say go for it !

Only if you fall. Last time I went was last year with my 9yr old. I went around once, fell, took 5 minutes to get up, and then he asked me to please take off the skate's. Case closed..........

If I understand your promise correctly, you can teach him to roller skate. You didn't promise to show him or demonstrate. Just hold his little hands and help him learn to balance until he gets the hang of it. You'll still have a lot of fun!!.

I'm 57 and I ice skate, roller skate and inline skate. I dont try to race with anyone and I always make sure I wear a helmet, knee pads and elbow pads. Unless you have some specific bone problems that might put you at risk if you fell, you should be able to keep up with a 4 1/2 yr old.

teaching him how to rollerskate does "not" mean you will be on skates too. I think it depends on your health, nutrition, etc. Because if you break something (a hip is a bad thing to break) then that pain will take you into your elder years and that could be a problem. It's time for you to do age-appropriate things, and rolelrskating is not one of them. (sports stars used to retire at 40).

Balance, dear - it's all about your sense of balance..... I can't ride a bike anymore, but I'm a hellion on roller skates! Sixty (age) is NOT the criterion - whether or not you can keep your balance on some type of 'toy' vehicle is the way to know.
