    I would recomend one of the fully customizable longboards from www.krackedskulls.com. Heck, even use the discount code DECA at checkout to recieve a pretty generous discount. Anyways though these boards are great dancers that rival the dervish at a much better price. Just perform a YouTube search on them and you will be amazed. The flexy deck makes it great for carving and cruising but it can also perform at downhill.

I would definitely check out Bustin Boards. The Spliff and the Sojourn are both not too big and are great for carving. My Sojurn is perfect because at 33" you could definitely use it for beach cruising but it's still small enough to maneuver slickly through the neighborhood. And they're chill guys. Fully customizable at their website, too...
