What surf board is best for me?

    Im 5'11" and 185 lbs so we are about the same and i had a 8'0" longboard and i loved that thing so that should be good, for a shortboard i ride mainly a 6'3" and i feel like i can go shorter but im not sure yet so i would choose above 6' for sure if your thinking of getting a shortboard and for fish boards and such i can ride a 5'8" and up

Try renting or use a friends shortboard before you by one, because they are harder to get up on and a 8'2'' is pretty simple because of its buoyancy. A shortboard will have smaller rails and smaller deck giving it less buoyancy but more response. go to a surf shop talk to them they can help with your choice and have a wide selection of boards

if you wanted a shortboard, id say go no smaller than a 6'2''. thats probably the smallest you could go with a board supporting you, unless your name is julian wilson and you can ride a 5'0''. and longboard wise, id say about a 9'0'' to a 9'6''. hope it helped :)
