Is this a good surf board for me?

Learning to surf, is a fish board any good?

  • buying a new board to learn to surf would a nice fat fish board be a good idea? if not got any other suggestions? thanks

    A fish is a difficult board to learn on. If you really want to learn and get good you should start on a long board, once you master a long board work your way down to a fun board. After you master a fun board you can move down to a fish before a short board. You will progress if you do this. Starting on a fish or short board you will struggle and become very frustrated. I dont think you should buy a board yet because board are expensive and many beginning surfers give up. surf boards are expensive so you should reconsider. You should first: 1) Get lessons(maybe from a class or someone who knows) 2) Rent different ones to try them out and see what u like 3)Once u kno how to surf then u should buy a board (that way ur sure that buying a board wasnt a waste) Hope you learn well... ur gonna drink a lot of seawater lol

you shouldnt really be buying a board as a begginer because thats just too much of an investment for someone who doesnt know if they like the sport i suggest you go to a surf shop and rent different kinds of boards and diffrent sizes (go with their recommendations) a surfboard is one of those things people cant guess what board would be good for someone so i suggest u find out urself by riding diffrent boards rent them from a local surf shop =)
