How do I get sponsored surfing for a local store?

    you wont get sponsored being "pretty good"--you need to be solid. the easiest way to find out how--or if--you can get sponsored by a shop is go ask. ask if they are looking for team surfers in your age group. they may ask you for a video or they will ask their team riders if anyone knows you or has surfed with you. if you are that good, then there is no doubt that you already know some of these peope and they should be easily approachable to you. doing contests helps too. if you are good, someone will notice--you'll get put on a team in due time.
