Anything will do what you want, really... Just get something decent quality and cheap. Kracked Skulls is great for the price. http://www.krackedskulls.com/ Grab the Scimitar with lime BigZigs for cruising. Also, you mentioned skating near the beach... Buy some white lithium grease (in the TUBE, NOT the spray) and use it to lube your bearings. It'll keep the sand and crud out of your bearings better than anything else, and help prevent rust and water from getting to them.

Check out the Nine Plus web site. Look for the Trim King.

I like the Sector 9 Sand Wedge http://www.apertureboardshop.com/SPD/sec%E2%80%A6 The Sand Wedge http://www.apertureboardshop.com/SPD/sec%E2%80%A6 is part of the Sidewinder Series bringing that series to the next level. An 8 ply concave maple deck for a firm, predictable and responsive ride. Drop through, flush mounted trucks give the board a lower center of gravity. Set up with the ultra responsive Gullwing Sidewinder Trucks and a set of wide, asphalt gripping 69mm Nineball Slalom wheels, this combo sets the Sand Wedge apart from other longboards . The Sidewinder Series is all about the Gullwing patented trucks. They are special due to their dual pivot point, which allows the board to turn twice as sharp & fast as traditional trucks. This amazing design allows a rider to generate speed using their own momentum.

Check out the Sector 9 Sidewinder series. I asked them and they said either the Sand Wedge or Off the Wall 2 is a great surf feel board. In part because of the sidewinder trucks that are made for surf-like turning. Here is the website https://www.sector9.com/
