Is it hard to surf?

Is it hard to surf?

  • I am moving to California, and I wanted to start surfing once I got into shape. Is it hard to surf? can I learn by myself, or do I need a professional to help me out?

  • Answer:

It is at first but once you get the hang of it, it can get easier. However before you start surfing you absolutly have to know how to swim. You have to be a very good swimmer. Because if your not a good swimmer, you could drown.

depends on how good your balance is

Yes it is hard so dont try it.Us surfers that have been surfing for years dont need another kook in the water. It is already crowded enough

By all means, get professional help. Had good lessons in Maui, patient local instructor got me ahead of where I would have been trying to learn it all alone.

YES!REAL HARD! I gave up trying!

You definitely don't need a professional to help, but it can be hard starting off. Your best bet is to practice your balance. ALOT.

If you can swim.. you can surf. I learned as an adult, I took a class. If you are young, you will have NO problems.

you wont need a professional. you would just need a friend that knows how to surf try to find one that you can trust in the water. It can be really dangerous out there. Good Luck
