When doing Indoor Sport Climbing, do i have to stay close to the wall or stretch out ur arm?

Answer:
The previous answer is very good but I have one thing to add. If your arms are extended, then you are putting less strain on your arm muscles and more on the bone. Of course this is for if you pause shortly. Another point is that if doing a big push up with a leg, you can push outwards from the wall and use the arm to swing yourself up hopefully reducing the chance of slipping downwards. (I think) But it is just whatever feels best for you :) Enjoy
