    I don't know what areas are close enough for you to consider, but if you are even thinking about driving far to climb an area you really should have a climbing route guide. My favorite guides are the Falcon Guide series: http://www.falcon.com/ These will tell you how to get there and what routes are available - with difficulty, route description and what gear is needed. Since you said that you still want to know about places outside of the 200 mile limit, I'll suggest you explore Nevada. I don't do much cliff climbing but I find some spectacular places in my trips.

Probably the best place closest to Michigan would be tne Niagara Escarpment (see 1st link), with hundreds of top rated climbs. Michigan is pretty lame as a place for serious rock climbing, but fortunately, Ontario, Ohio, and especially Pennsylvania all have extensive climbing areas. See 2nd link for where you can go. ADDENDUM: I correct myself. Maybe you should have a look at "The Ledges", which is just west of Lansing, Michigan. I think I would be interested in this place myself if I lived in Michigan.
