How to clean rock climbing shoes?

How tight is too tight for rock climbing shoes? If your toes are as crunched as can be is that too tight?

  • They kinda hurt too, like when I point my foot up and down, it hurts alot quite a bit, but they are bran new Mad Rock shoes and I dont know what they should feel like.

  • Answer:

Don't listen to those 2 guys man. Climbing shoes are supposed to be tight, yes. But ultimately, it's what works for you. If you find that a super tight shoe gives you better feel and you don't mind it, go with that. If you think they're too tight, get something a tad bigger. If you say it hurts a lot, then don't wear them. It's not good for your feet, and not good for your climbing if you're just thinking about your feet hurting. ...but to say they are supposed to hurt because they're climbing shoes is not correct at all

It depends on the shoes and the type of climbing you do. Back when I was younger and climbing 5.11+, my shoes were ridiculously tight, to the point of being painful. These days, I have a quilted shoe that doesn't stretch. Since the shoe doesn't stretch, I bought it so that it fits snug, but there is still enough room for me to wiggle my toes a bit. They don't hurt at all, and I can wear them for hours at a time.

They're not supposed to hurt. I go rock climbing every week, and my shoes are tight, but they don't hurt.

they should be tight enough to where your toes curl but not to where it hurts so bad its cutting off your circulation
