That depends on what you consider "Best". Do you mean easiest? Most challenging? Most direct? Least climbed? That is too subjective -- "best " is in the eye of the beholder. There are considered to be 18 routes that have already been climbed on Everest (more properly called by its Tibetan name Chomolungma, or great mother goddess). Between that and the North Col route from Tibet, they are the most "popular" because of relative ease.
