    The Beach is extremely windy and sand will get everywhere. When you go shopping, make sure you let them know you're going to the beach. Get some tent anchors designed for the sand. Things to do: Get a couple of cheap kites and a boogie board. A fishing pole is good too. For a tent, I would get a large dome or cabin (walled) with two rooms: One to store your stuff and to change in, and one to sleep in that you can seal up and keep relatively free of grit. Hard-soled plastic or rubber sandals: Easy to rinse of, quick to dry. Bug Spray- Lots and Lots of bug spray. Nothing like scrub grass and standing water to bring the bugs out. For the fire, the simplest, easiest thing is to have a plain old tapered candle. Make a nest or cave from your tinder,Light the candle and hold it in the nest to start your tinder: It lasts longer than a match, is harder to blow out and won't burn you like a lighter. Also, the wax that drips on your starter material is flammable, making it that much easier to get your fire going. Once your fire starts, you can leave the candle in it, and it'll continue to burn.
