Where to go camping in scotland?

  • me and my husband want to escape for a weekend. we have camped in a family tent on camp sites near our home but would like to camp out in scotland. we have never been to scotland so ...show more

  • Answer:

A family tent is rather large to carry into the wilds and also is large enough to attract attention. Max size I would suggest is a two man (person) tent. What about Rannock Moor, but watch out for midgies as per other comments. My preference to avoid them is a midge net over the head rather than repelants. Have fun. Can't wait for 'Pace stick and proud of it's comments!

I have been camping in Fort William many times and loved every minute of it. It is an ideal place for hiking or just relaxing taking in the beautiful views. Bewere! Midges love people from teatime till morning.

you can camp basically anywhere. Paces like Loch Lomand are probably most popular. Used to camp in Arran
