What is a good backpack to use backpacking?

Would a 35 liter backpack be okay to use for weekend backpacking trips?

  • I pack light, but not ultralight.

  • Answer:

I would think so, depending on what all you intend to carry. In fact, I usually manage to pack for a weekend in about 20-22 liters. But I’ve just upgraded to this 23 liter Excursion backpack (http://www.briggs-riley.com/category/productDetail.aspx?id=Excursion-Backpack_BP118 ) from Briggs & Riley’s BRX line. It looks spacious enough to hold a weekend worth of stuff if I pack smart!

In general I would say yes, but it depends on what kind of gear you take and how well it fits in the pack. As a raw volume measurement though, that is definitely enough for 2-4 days.

Yes, I would say it is adequate. Here is a link with great advice on how to pack it and what to bring http://www.rei.com/expertadvice/articles/ultralight+backpacking+checklist.html
