Is fish finder a good gift for a occasional fisher?

he has a boat right?? otherwise a fishfinder is useless..i agree with the leatherman multi-tool suggestion--he can use it for fishing plus many many other uses--my girlfriend got me one and i think of her on fishing trips, camping trips, etc...gerber or leatherman are good brands of multi-tools

Get him a leatherman wave. (multi tool) and have it engraved. My wife gave me one many years ago. I use it every day and think about her when I do.

I don't know i'm not a fisher sorry, but I always thought that they were for boats... if he was to fish from the shore I don't know if it will be much use?
