just do it on your own- thats what we used to do, on the beach or a field (ask the farmer first but if he's not using it then they are usually ok)...just make sure to clean up after yourself and not leave any rubbish...and if there are houses nearby dont be too rouwdy.....most campsites will want you to be a bit older without supervision but i know for a fact that the one on Arran, off the west coast of scotland will allow you to go...but that might be a bit far to travel for you!

This might surprise you but the Scout association encourages their Scouts to go off on their own as thdey get older! When I was 14 I did the duke of edinburgh award scheme, and part of that involved overnight camping without adults - this was easy to arrange, we picked an area we wanted to camp in and found a farm near - gave them a call, said what we were doing and off we went. Now a lot of this of course depends on what you want when you are out camping - if you want the 'luxury' of a commercial campsite then you would have to convice the owners to let you stay, or if you want wild camping is possible too and perhaps easier to arrange. Im guessing as well that you arnt able to travel all over the country to camp so could you give us more informationabout where you want to go - an area and type of campsite, ta.

Like others have said, with parental permission, so no one reports you as a runaway, you're free to wander the backcountry trails with backpacks and camp wherever it's permitted. But most campgrounds act like hotels and refuse under-age campers who might cause problems or need supervision. But before you go off by yourselves it's important to have the knowledge and proper gear to find your way and survive in the woods. The best way to get this knowledge, besides learning from a parent or other responsible adult, is by reading books on camping and backpacking from your local library, and experimenting in your own backyards.

If you are in the eastern U.S. you could get a ride to an Appalachian trail road crossing and hike in to one of the campsites. Have a pre arranged time and place to meet your ride home. Other areas have similar hiking trails.
