How do you do a motocross race start?

  • When they do a gate drop start in motocross, how do they take off so fast? Do they hold the clutch at a certain spot when they hold the throttle open or what?

I put my bike in Second gear, pull in the clutch less than 1/4 of an inch. Countdown from 30 seconds and blow right out of that gate when it drops.
