How to get started with dirt biking?

Go to a local club and see if they do any training days (which most likely they will) or talk to some people around the club to see if they can help you. Riding a dirtbike is hard to get use to with a clutch and gears, but once you have the hang of it you will be fine. Just make sure you speak to a dealership before buying a bike of ebay etc. Just to ensure you know what to look for. And also please please ensure you wear safety gear! Hope you start riding :)

i first got a suzuki ts 50 when i was 14 and it was the perfect height and everything for me to learn. after that a dt 125 off road. then crossers. but with my son i got him a cheap import pitbike for around £250 i think when he was 8, but it was a load of crap. stay away from cheap import bikes. now my son has a kawaski kx 65 and he loves it. my point being, start of on a smaller bike for you first bike ,maybe a ts 50, dt 50 , mt 50 then maybe to a dt 125. a road bike that has been taken off road isnt as powerful. thats why a e.g dt 50 can be ridden by a 16 year old. theres plenty of online stores, but be careful. you best joing a forum, and finding out were to ride because the police are crushing bikes. me and my son dont get bothered when they see us in all a protective gear.
