  • Answer:

well never using the clutch for anything but shifting stretches out your chain really bad. if yer talking about when exctly to use it when shifting use it when the gear sounds like it is about to wind out like when it reaches the peak of the gear thats how youll get the fastest speed and most power wait as long as u can b4 shifting but not to long or youll just stay at a constant speed in the gear

usually on 2 strokes you can drag the clutch in the corners to keep up the rpms, you dont want to pop the clutch in the middle of the corner, that would be rediculous ;p now front brake i use coming into tight corners for extra stopping power and also you can lightly drag it in a rutted corner for traction. dont pull it in hard, ;] goodluck && have fun :D kimberly #726

I think what you are referring to is clutch slipping. This is done mainly on smaller (125 and under) 2 strokes. Small 2 strokes only make good power in the higher RPM range. When going through a tight turn your RPM's will drop so to get it back on pipe you slip the clutch to get the revs back up before exiting the corner. Slipping the clutch is just pulling it in enough that the RPM's increase, but the bike is still moving forward. As far as brakes, anytime you are braking it should be front and back, never just back alone.

on a 2 stroke: you want to use the clutch ALOT to keep the bike in high Rpm's.. and in a corner all you do is pull in the clutch to where is just barley fully disengages than you rev the bike up and let the clutch out at the appropriate speed to keep a good Rpm. and while braking i like to use the front brake more than the back brake at times.. and i think i got the from riding trails alot.. but hey now i ride in a Pro Am class so i guess its working.. but you can keep on the front brake for about the first half of a turn before you make the quick change from braking to accelerating. another little tip on braking on flat turns and if you want to go inside.. than as you enter the turn slam on your back brake to lock up the rear wheel and go into a brake slide.. and make it so you are sliding around the corner.. and when you want to straight'n back out than you can grab a little front brake and that will act as a pivot point than get hard on the gas to go into a power slide... its really hard to explain and even harder to do on the bike.. but it hella works. and the front brake actually has twice or more stopping power than the back brake.. truly. and if you learn how to use it right than its great
