How would i start dirt biking?

Here in the States we have the AMA for a National club, you need to find the name of the local club in your area, lots of the clubs will be linked to the National clubs website. Then you can find tracks and rules and all kinds of info. You will need nerves of steel, to be in very good physical shape, the ability to focus, and a race worthy machine. You will need tools, mechanical ability, a truck/trailer and money. Motocross is an awesome sport, I hope you find a way to participate. Unfourtunatly the expense of motocross limits who can participate. One of the cheapest forms of racing, yet still expensive. The big 5 companies need to find a way to make less expensive machines, the 4 strokes cost a lot to maintain compared to the 2 strokes. Just my 2 cents. Peace!

Firs off, I just want to say Thanks for wanting to start this sport. This is a great sport. If you do not alredy have a dirtbike plan on buying one you also want to make sure you have enough money so that you dont end with somone's old hunk of crap that they duck taped the engin to the frame and that engin is'nt gonna fall off as soon as you hit that first table top. Next is what type 2 stroke or 4 stroke, kawasaki, KTM, Suzuki, Yamaha, or Honda. You can go 250 four stroke or 125 2 stroke do u know the diffrence well here it is: 2 cycle uses oil and gas mixture and has a compression stroke and ignition. 4 cycle uses gasoline and has 4 strokes to the piston, intake, compression, power, exhaust. Now that you got down the most important part: The dirtbike, Its time to Find your local track. Since im not from the UK i cant give you examples of tracks near you. But i can tell you that as eger as you are to jump on the bike and jump that 100 ft table. I suggest that you buy gear.The essincals are helmet boots and roost guard ( Roost guards are required to any and ALL miniors ) You should aim for a neck brace once you find that you are into motocross and are going to stick with it. You can alson consiter knee and elbo pads or braces..YOU DO NOT NEED TO SPEND YOUR MONEY ON NEW GEAR IT CAN BE USED!!! Next is to condition. you need to get fit. AS motocross is one of the most phically demanding sports in the world. Than practice drills suck as a figure eight than work on sticking out ur leg in turnes, squeezing your knees and keeping your elbows up.....Than practince the cluch untill it is second nature to you THAN........HIT THE TRACK AND LOOK FRO RACES FOR YOUR SELF TO ENTER IN. hope i helped.

Hi, glad you decided on this, it's really fun. For it you need a bike. So at first you need to consider there you will store your bike. rent a garage or smth. Then go get a bike search local ads for it. For you 250 4 stroke will be good way to start. Futhermore you need riding gear, ( and i suggest buying it before buying a bike). Boots, pants, gloves, Helmet, shirt, knee pads, elbow pads, neck brace. Ideally you would need transport for your bike, 250quid new. Then you have all the things, you are good to go. Take your bike to open fields and start riding at slow speed to get familiar with bike, open grasslands are good for acceleration and leaning into corners. Then you are familiar you can take your bike to tracks. Remember for jumping you need to grip bike with your legs, because it will let go if you not do this. These are some notes for starting. Don't spend all money on bike and gear, save some for bike maintance and repair, you will need it. Good luck
