How can I get my Tecumseh engine to get more power and speed?

drill some holes in the muffler, just dont take it off, you need the back pressure, bypass the governor, tweak the screws on the carb,preformance plugs, what does stroke mean?

stroke it? never heard that term in 28 years of mechanics. if it's the 2 stroke version, the most popular, make sure you use the right gas/oil mixture, and it is mixed correctly. ALWAYS use fresh fuel as it does seperate and condense. theres a few tricks of the trade in spiking up the mixture but i get paid for those. governor can usually be adjusted, she can handle a bit more revs, and use high performance sparkplugs with a richer mixture.
