The XL has one thing going for it, it's size. Generally it's meant for people with bigger hands or people who just want to have the newest Nintendo product. But if you don't have large hands, I wouldn't bother with the XL. Just go with the regular DSi, a bit cheaper and it doesn't weigh a ton.
