How to record consoles as xbox 360 or PS3?

It's a PS3, it's awesome, it does everything. I'm not even really a gamer, and I BLOODY LOVE IT. The only annoying thing is that it doesn't ship with an HDMI cable -- it ships with the basically obsolete (and hobbling) tri-whatever cable, which is utterly silly. When you order your PS3, order an HDMI Cable 2M (6 Feet) (or hopefully they'll start shipping with non-obsolete cables!) as well, put your elliptical trainer in front of your TV, and then GO HAVE FUN!

Most youtube'rs use a piece of equipment called a HD Capture Card. They are external capture cards that take the video from the xbox or ps3 and funnel it to a capture program that you must install on your pc (the program comes with the card). Usually you can get one off of amazon.com for around $180-$800. Also you could get a black magic capture card. They come in twovarietiess, BM: Intensity Pro and the BM: Intensity Shuffle. The Intensity Shuffle is an external capture card that requiers USB 3.0 to run. YOU CANNOT USE A 3.0 CARD! It must be real 3.0, the card isnt fast enough. Or you could get the Pro, which is an internal cap card. (also around $200) Well I hope that helpped, even though it was one large run on sentence.
