Is there going to be another nintendo console?

The Wii is their next-generation game system. There will not be a GameCube 2. Nintendo had previously toyed with the idea of supporting three game systems all at once, but even then it was one home console and two handhelds (the GameCube, the Game Boy Advance, and the then-brand-new Nintendo DS.) Except the Nintendo DS took the world, especially Japan, by storm, and so Nintendo decided to discontinue the Game Boy Advance rather than risk the new market they'd created with the DS. Like the DS, the Wii has been extremely successful, in spite of the fact that Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 are much more powerful machines in terms of visual capabilities. Also like the DS, Nintendo has found a niche where it can thrive, and are so successful that, according to various independent reports, the Wii has just recently surpassed the worldwide install base of the Xbox 360, despite having to catch up after Microsoft's year-long head start. Nintendo won't jeopardize that level of success by releasing any new consoles for years to come.

the wii is a good system but now you can get a ore 360 for like 30 bucks more so i would go 360 (my friend had a wii and he loved it til he got a ps3) if you are a casual gamer and you like the games get it, but in my opinion there are not that many strong games for it. oh and they wont be coming out with a new system for a while sry

Nintendo is already working on a new 1 starting on it it will be a long time befor it comes out wii is a game system and a good 1 at that you can do many things on a wii and there are many good games for it as well who ever told you wii not a system dont buy it does not have a clue about next gen gaming wii is a great next gen system that sells more than any other except the Nintendo ds witch is by the way a Nintendo product I got my wii its awsome
