Do you stand or lay down an XBOX 360?

  • I'm getting an XBOX 360 and I wanted to know whether I stand it up or lay it down in order to avoid problems.

    I have mine down, it seems safer that way. I've never, ever had a problem with overheating - & there were a couple of days when I had it on for a good ten hours straight (had the flu.)

Lay it down, firstly never move a 360 console from upright to its side or move it at all while there is a disk in the drive, it will place a nice cut in the disk. Also don't buy a intercooler, as many times they cause more problems. Its safer to just lay it down.

Whatever you do have it standing up believe me i learned. I sent mine in for repairs and now it is standing up plus i have a desk fan sitting right beside of it to blow the hot air out from behind it but just keep it standing up and give it a break for about 30 minutes after you play for an extended time hope this helps If you lay down your console you are more likely to see the red ring of death
