Has the Xbox 360 reached it's peak/full potential yet (PS3 vs Xbox 360 buying question)?

the PS3 has "potential" but by buying it in no way guarantees it. the way the system was built makes the PS3's abilities limited. the way they structured the memory was unwise. the games of 08 for PS3 comes into mind only MGS4, but even then, will be sold with a PS3 in a bundle, because of the fear of not selling enough PS3's. as for internet, PS3 has "free internet" but companies don't have free servers and Sony is letting them charge players for playing on their servers so therefore it is not free. and threrefore is lousy as well. i would go with the 360. Valve(half-Life) doesn't even want to work with the PS3. so choose 360 and may Sony Fanboys hate us forever.

i have to say that ps3 is better!!!!!! its a billion times beeter. If you get the 360, you will have a 30 percent chance of getting the red ring of death. Many people complained about this hardware failure. Trust me i used to have a 360 and now i have a ps3. Also i am very happy with it!!!!! If you want to talk about the games on ps3 and 360, lets look at the games comin out for 2008. For 360, all i can think of is gears of war 2 and halo universe. But for ps3 there i motorstorm 2, MSG4, Ressistance2, Grand Turismo 5, Final Fantasy Versus 13, Final Fantasy 13 and much more, just check them out at ign.com. If you liked Kindom hearts, you will LOVE final fantasy versus 13. Just see the trailer. Its going to be the best game ever!!!! I know that 360 has better online gameplay, duh this is because you have to pay for it. With the money they get, they can spend it on expanding xbox lives library and imporve its features. Online on ps3 is free so Sony has to limit the money it spends on it. Im sure online gameplay will greatly improve since ps2 online is still the most widely used online gameplay service according to NPD. I REALLY REALLY REALLY recommend you getting the ps3 because it will last way longer than the 360. There were 0 percent complaints for hardware failures on the ps3 ever since launch. Hope you get the ps3!!!! Also Metal Gear Solid 4 looks great!! There is also an 80gb bundle with MSG4 coming out in April or May.

xbox 360. ex playstation fan here. im glad i switched. to think iwould have never been able to play halo online and gears online is a nightmare. i dont worry about blu ray cuz i really dont need to see it in ultra high def. i dont need to see every particle of dirt on a robot.

No since there are still a lot of Xbox 360s getting those red ring of death problems even on the new versions. Microsoft should fix tis problem first.

look at the 360 marketplace, although you have to pay for the xbox live multiplayer experience, you can access the market place with a silver account. the marketplace includes TONS of stuff, movies, tv shows, music videos, music, you can get classic xbox games, classic arcade games not to mention how fun online play and competing with other people. the PS3's death rate is rising at an alarming level, no doubt, but no one says anything, everyone is crazy over the red rings, which isn't a problem. it was a problem with consoles bought over a year ago, so you really don't need to worry about that. new games coming out for 360 include gears 2, (if you didn't play gears 1, you should play that or the new one. it is an AMAZING game series, no doubt) not to mention HALO 3! and its commonly known that COD4 is better on 360 hello Bioshock, game of the year!? and the orange box, both great games on playstation network, you can't see friends that are online in other games, can't send them messeges, it's really not that fun, and barely anyone has a microphone. ps3 exclusives aren't fun at all, they are dumb games, like god of war? what a pointless weirdo game. assasin's creed is on both, and heck lets say your playing assassin's creed. and your friend is online. first of all, you wouldn't even know that on a ps3, and on your 360 you can send them a private chat, and talk to them while you are on completely different games, someting that PS3 lacks. any GOOD ps3 game coming out is coming for 360 too sure some of the hardware for the PS3 is more expensive and sounds better, but the combo of hardware put out is better with what microsoft does, the peices the picked were meant to work together, while in PS3 sony just picked the best, most expensive processers and engines, and put them in, not a good idea. definetly go with the 360

I would have to agree that PS3 hasn't reached it full potential . But then again how many years is it going to take to read that potential. it does seem like they are getting close. I don't think the xbox 360 has reached its full potential either. But it probably is closer then the Ps3. PS3 does have blu-ray (and HD-DVD is dead). Supposable the PS3 can upgrade the blu-ray capabilities to match the current standered. I don't know how long it well be able to do this. Really the blu-ray really shouldn't be that big of factor. Really when it comes down to which is best you have to go with games. Like you pointed out Xbox just has a bigger selection of games. How long well that last I don't know. Also if you online play is a big deal, then you can't beat xbox live. It well take sony at least a nother couple of years to be up to xbox live. (and by then xbox live well change more). One of the facts you kind of have to face is that MOST likely your xbox 360 well break! How fast and when can kind of be determined, but its more a change of when not if.

in my opinion, the ps3 was better than the 360 when it first came out. if you look at what the ps3 is, it destroys the 360. the 360 had its day, and it did ok. now is the time for the ps3. 360 only has one game coming out that looks good to me and that is gears 2. if you are a ps man, like you say you are, think back as to how many games the ps2 had. thats not going to change. you just need to give the ps3 time. and yes, blu ray is indeed the future. the 360 still uses dvds to play games. thats the same format the original xbox as well as the ps2 used. that right there should tell you something. this question has been asked a billion times, look it up, and all the intelligent answers are from people that know what they are talking about. and the answer always comes back ps3. there are a few regulars that i hope answer this question for you. i am a fanboy, so i am going to say ps3. i did have a 360 but.....i am not going there now. but the others around here are not fanboys and they will tell you straight. i will star your question and hopefully more will respond. i am telling you, if you end up getting the 360, you are going to kick yourself in like 6 months.
