Why won't my Xbox 360 Wired controller work for games on my PC?

    Well windows 7 would install the right drivers from the get-go so I guess the question is what game were you trying to play? Also was it a Windows Live game? Windows Live games have controls mapped out just for the 360 controller. But just to be sure... Open up the control panel click on Hardware and Sound then click on Devices and Printers if the controller is properly installed you should see a Xbox controller under the devices section. if its not there or another controller is named let us know

u have to download the software ill give u a link http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/d/xbox-360-controller-for-windows and just do what it tells u too

you'll need a program provided by microsoft.com just follow the instructions WHATEVER YOU DO DO NOT UPDATE THE SOFTWARE
