Where can I play a demo of Minecraft before buying the real thing?

I'm not sure whether I want to or not so does anyone know a demo or free version I can play to get a taste?

There is actually a free demo that you can play on the minecraft site when you make a free minecraft account. You need an account to buy minecraft, so chose a good username, as other players can see it in multiplayer. The free demo goes for 100 minutes before you have to start again. You always play in the same world, so you cannot enter seeds if you know what those are. I hope this helped!
