Is PC gaming dead?

Is pc gaming dead? or thriving?

    Nice to see a question that doesnt involve things like "am I pregnant?" or "am i good looking?" PC gaming obviously has taken a battering since the evolution of the console. With Xbox, PS and Wii thriving, PC gaming has of course suffered as a result. I dont think it is "dying" as such, just struggling. There are many millions and millions of people who play MMORPG's that keep PC gaming alive. World of Warcraft, warhammer etc so PC gaming is still on the increase. Also games like Football Manager 2010, The Sims 3 etc are much easier to play on PC so these games keep PC gaming thriving too.

Hello Mathew, Yes, it has become to an age where game designers are switching from platform and are choosing portables game stations as their source for gaming. By doing this, game designers avoid most of the hacking of their games and possible illegal distribution of their software online. Another issue is that games are becoming more sophisticated and regular computers which most of us own, cannot support all the designs of the game. There are some games that will remain for the pc which are Strategy games for the most part. But for the most part, the pc game industry is going to disappear soon. Bye

pc gaming is dead. A decent graphics card could buy me a ps3 and a game or two. Then there will be the next greatest thing a month or two down the road. A decent gaming pc i well over 1k, and even that would have trouble playing a game a year or two down the road. Gaming consoles have all of the good games anyway, and they are cheaper. I certainly never want to go back to pc gaming

naah, it doesn't matter whether PC gaming dies or not, the world is going to die at the end of 2012 So, hang on to your fond memories of gaming we all are in our last years of survival
