How much would a good gaming PC cost to make?

  • assuming you built it yourself? I'm contemplating on making a gaming PC and I am wondering also, what should it have in it? As you can tell I'm a computer noob. :3

  • Answer:

Take a look at Cyberpowerpc.com. You don't necessarily have to build one. Building one can be more expensive.

$800-1200, depending on the parts. Although if you really have no experience with PCs, I'd recommend buying a pre-made box from Velocity Micro. They use off-the-shelf parts, and do charge a few hundred more which covers assembly, testing, and your warranty. They also don't include any trial software junk, unlike Dell or the others. They install the OS, whatever other software you bought (which I don't recommend), and that's it. You also get the actual install disc. On some configurations they can even perform optimizations and overclocking - and it's covered by their warranty. I've been buying boxes from them for the past 6 years and have always been happy with their choices and build quality. I've recommended them to friends as well, who just want a powerful, clean, well built PC at a good price with none of the hassle and clutter you get from the other builders.

Assuming you start with no parts (no case, no PSU, no monitor, no keyboard or mouse) $800 min

Starts around $500 much more depending how powerful you want it.
