Why doesn't the game I bought work on my PC?

I bought a used PC game and the activation code won't work?

I don't know because all the games my brother buys always have some code and it works.. I have no idea what a pawn shop is.. well, I live in Malaysia and I don't see any here.. or know any.. But I know that pawn shops sell secondhand stuff or used stuff by other people and games with codes..?? Codes are used one time only. So.. return it and get back your money!!

Activation codes are one-time use, which is why most places don't deal in used PC games. There's not much you can do if the pawn shop won't take it back.

Maybe see if you can return it? That's the sole reason why not to buy used PC games. Someone else obviously has used it before and I doubt steam or anyone else can do anything besides the Pawn Shop.
