I am getting a new gaming pc but i'm wondering if PC gaming is dead or dying.

It's not either. There was a huge uptick in 2012, and you'll love it. There are lots of games-many free-and you'll be able to connect with other players, usually free (don't know about games like Skyrim.) And you don't have to worry about game system designers jerking you around ala Xbox 1. Have fun with your system!
