Is there a way to play PC games on a Mac?

Hello I want to buy a mac but the ONLY reason I'm hesitant is gaming. Is there a way I can run PC games on a make. i.e. boot camp or something else. Thanks

Answer:
There are TONS of mac games, WoW, Spore, Unreal Tournament, Sims, etc. Its jsut a matter of finding the right version. Now, you have 2 other options if the mac version isn't available. You can "dual boot" your system with the built in tools called "boot camp". They work great and for gaming are the best idea, for performance. If you want to suffer performance though, you can use tools like VMWare or Parallels (best choice). They are both simple to use, but do require a bit of setup time. Mac's are more than capable of gaming, they use the exact same intel chips, nvidia and ati graphics cards, etc. Its just a matter of setting it up. I run 2 mac's both with bootcamp, and have gaming performance better than most of my pc user friends.

Yes , 1) you can install Windows using BootCamp in Mac / Macbook and play the Windows Games. http://www.apple.com/macosx/bootcamp/ 2) you can install "Parellels" a mac application which runs Windows applications parellally in Mac. and play Windows Games http://www.parallels.com/en/products/desktop/ 3) Also, there are many Microsoft games ported into Mac. http://www.macsoftgames.com/ good luck. Cheers :)

nope. :( unless they're universal or you can find a mac version, you can't. Macs aren't built for gaming, but more for business / media stuff. I got my mac because I was a) fed up with PCs (and no, I have not regretted it one bit) and b) wanted a computer that was going to smoothly run photoshop. But as far as games go, you're pretty much out of luck man. :( there are very few game you can even play online, because they all require active x controls or whatever, which is a PC thing. So that means no yahoo games. :( You just have to decide what is most important to you. If you want a computer built for gaming, you could probably get one for around the same price as a mac. But if you just want a nice solid system that you don't have to worry about crashing and getting viruses and spyware and are going to be doing lots of internet, word processing, or media work, go for it, because it's totally worth it. Also, I'm pretty sure you can run Windows on a mac.... but it kind of defeats the purpose if you ask me.
