I personally would choose a PC over a 360 any day of the week. One key thing that a computer has over a console is versatility. While playing your games you can also have the option to surf the web, talk to friends through a messenger, have the option to watch movies on it shop on it and etc. Yes, the price can be a downfall because it's a sudden hit to the wallet with a big price tag but it's well worth it. You don't need a new computer every year either, more like..every 4-5 just need to choose your parts wisely and it's the same as the consoles, they get a new one to come out just like that. Also to Lightfall.. a $800 computer would FOR SURE run GTA IV and more then likely a lot of the games coming out for the next year and so on.

the xbox is really overrated I just sold mine for a ps3 and I couldnt be happier but I think gaming pc's are better than the xbox and you have to pay for xbox live so after a while its gonna add a couple hundred to ur total price and pc will last a lot longer than a 360 even if the 360 doesnt break just say six years from now NO ONE will be playing xbox 360 and they will be as valueable as a gamecube but I know plenty of people who are using pc's that are more than 6 years old and if you got a gaming pc those parts will take longer to go out of date if nothing goes wrong you could get around 7 years of that pc P.S if you get someone to build the pc for you normally its way cheaper

I have an xBox 360 Elite and its made me happy so far, except one thing, you cant browse the internet like you can on a PS3 or Computer. As for the R-Rod, I don't know, I've had mine since December and i haven't got it yet. I don't have games for my computer so, I can't really tell you much about that except for internet ( Which is always good.) I'd say get an Elite if you had to choose, but just a thought, if you have an internet connection, you should get a PS3, cause it's like a little PC with exceptional gaming qualities, plus Blue-Ray.
In general, a 360 would probably give you more bang for your buck (ie. playing GTA IV on the 360 vs. playing on a PC [an $800 PC probably WONT even play it]) Thing is... it depends on the 360 you get. It will have a max of 10% failure rate. Also, it doesn't have the availability to things that the PC can do (watch some videos, play PC only games, ect.) But then again, the 360 has Halo ;) So all-in-all, I would look at how much you will use either one and what you want from them.
