Answer:
Sadly the only simple answer is the computer hardware is the problem. Any computer used for gaming needs to have hardware that can handle the processes (motherboard, video card, CPU, RAM, etc.) and if your computer hardware is too outdated to handle these games and the resources they need then there is nothing you can do short of getting a faster machine.

If you got an averge or new Computer you dont need to Upgrade it. you need to Clean it up from the Temps, Clutters , Viruses/Spywares and Fragmented areas. All you need to do is FULL SCAN your system with Strong antivirus (I recommand NOD32 or Avira AntiVir) Anything gets up with you Delete it. Next you need to Download System Mechanic 8 Pro to FiX all the Temps and fraggment stuff.. Hope that works for ya

You could try updating the graphics on your computer or downloading something like directX offline. You might just have an old computer also. I would look in you r personal setting to make sure your graphics are set to the max. Hope it helps.

Your system sounds like it is not up to par to play the games you are trying to play it is likely the graphics or the memory. For graphics to play most games you need a graphics card added to your system most computers come with a onboard graphics and this does not play games well You can upgrade the card for 100.00 to 150.00 or more and get a fairly good graphics card and pay someone 40.00 or so to install it or install yourself you can find step by step directions on line Or it may be memory if your system has a graphics card in it than i would add more memory 2 GB or 3 GB is best especially if you are running Windows Vista as your operating system. To run 4 GB you must have a 64 bit operating system so do not waste money on 4 GB's of memory unless you intend on upgrading your operating system, There is a site that lets you tests you system for all sorts of games and it will tell you what is needed to make it work great on your machine. run the test and see what it says for the games you have tried. it will give the bare basics which honestly in many cases cause lag. and it gives a higher one that is the one i would go with http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest

Next time you get a computer up grade the graphics card. Mine works great, it was worth paying the extra money for it.
