more of a counter strike shoot em up kinda guy so im not sure whats really out there but every one seems to be playing wow so im guessing that thats the best one out. if i had to pick one to buy and play it wouldnt be wow because its pay to play and i dont have money for that. i would go with one of the civilization games or starcraft.

I think most of the newer strategy games are too cluttered. The interfaces are clunky and controls are difficult. If you haven't tried the Age of Empires series, might I suggest number 2. By far the best strategy game I've ever played. And you might pass history this year.

try Aveyond 2 , or you can get a freeware game called A tale of two kingdoms , at Amaranth Games. both will keep you going for weeks !

What you need my friend is a game like: Medieval II: Total War This game is absolutely amazing, when you actually play the game, you feel like you are fighting a real war.
