My gamecube won't play any discs.

Does the Ninntendo Wii play any discs besides wii or gamecube like audio or dvd's?

    i think nintendo mentioned they are going to add dvd support within the upcoming months. the wii has the ability to play dvd's, it just needs the right codecs installed in the firmware. nintendo is reluctant to add these codecs do to piracy but the wii has already been compromised beyond repair in the hacking department so dvd support should be around the corner.

Only Wii and gamecube games can be played on it which is pretty sad cause it would've been cool if you could watch movies on it. =(

Nope, Alot of people were unhappy about this, and in turn didnt buy a wii You can play Wii games, and it is backwards compatible with gamecube discs, so you can play those as well. Dvds wont play, Regular Cds wont play. Just nintendo issued Wii or Gamecube Discs. But you can go on youtube with it ; ) try going to movie6.net on your wii and see if you can watch those videos on it. (Full length Movies) if not try vid-stream.com hope this helps ya out :D
