Umm most new releases sell for $50, unless they are packed with some fancy accessory...ie dance dance rovolution i belive comes with the dance pad (added cost) and i believe that Mario Kart is going to come with a steering wheel....the $50 price tag for new games has been pretty standard for the last couple of years....so im not sure what your talking about (i dont remember the last time i bought a brand new release for $15....

I don't know what the hell you are talking about. The average new game price on last gen consoles was always $50, and for the next gen systems (Xbox 360 and PS3) the average new game price is $60. New Wii games are the cheapest of any of the next gen systems.

dude wii games are the cheapest games because the ps3 and xbox360 are $60 while wii are $50 some wii games wii are costly it is because they will include something like mario kart Wii will include the wii wheel

Well it is a new system. I think that you will recall that when Playstation 1 came out everything that went with it was a ridiculously high price. Now however Playstation 1 accessories are extremely cheap. In a year or so I think you will see a drop in prices on Wii. For now however Nintendo is trying to make money so you are just going to have to deal with the new prices same as everybody else.

Not true. Average new release titles are $50. Xbox 306 and PS3 games are actually more anyway, on average $60. Halo 3 Legendary ed will be over $100.

This all boils down to one concept: Supply and Demand. The Wii phenomenon is a novelty right now. The pervasive advertisements you see on the television promote the Wii merchandise therefor driving up the demand. When the demand goes up exponentially.....the price usually goes up.

It has nothing to do with how new it is or "supply and demand". People don't know what they're talking about. If a game is popular, when have stores said, "Ya know what? Since you want this so much, we're raising the price 5$ now." Game prices are set, that's it. The only thing that will bring down the price of an individual game, is time. A 50$ game after 6 months, especially if it gets a players choice award, will probably drop down quite a bit. Someone said after a year they'll drop prices? Not for all new games in general. A new game is 40$-50$, that's what they'll be. Period. Just look at the PC, they've been the same price forever. Wii games are the cheapest of this generation, mostly due to Nintendo wanting to keep prices down, and also because the Wii is easier to program than a PS3 for instance. The technology behind Wii games is closer to Gamecube, which developers are familiar with. Also developers have to pay license fees to the console manufacturers to publish games for those systems. You'll notice when there's a release for PC and 360 for instance, the 360 version is about 10$ more than a PC version. If somehow a Wii game was released on PC, it would be 10$ less also.

Because the Wii is a new console, PS3 games cost $10 more than Wii games.
