OK PS1 games CAN be played on the PS2 BUT, and this is really REALLY important, you need a PS1 MEMORY CARD to save the game. It CAN'T be saved to a PS2 memory card. The PS1 memory card will plug right into the same slots as the PS2 memory cards and I would suggest using the 1st slot. People seem to have more trouble when they try to use the second slot and have a PS2 memory card in the first slot. Seems to confuse the system.
