Yes. As long as your Hard Drive is undamaged and isn't corrupted, it will work on the Elite. :)

If you want to use your old harddrive, don't buy an elite. One purpose of getting the elite was the use of the 120 gb HDD. Or get a transfer cable and use the new HDD for 6x the space

The harddrives should be removeable,.. but make sure there isnt other differences in the systems. The arcade version for example may not have all the expansion ports in the back. Ive never actually compaired them like that though. after looking at http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/compare101.htm I noticed right away that the arcade doesnt have a HD connection and NO use of normal x-box old system games (where the upgrades can use SOME of them). Yeah, I did the same thing. It unclips pretty easily and then you can just put it on the new one. I'm not sure quite what you're saying, but I think you have a broken XBox and are now buying an elite. So, If I'm right, you'll get a new hard drive with the elite, which is normally a 120GB. So, sell that, and bare in mind that the hard drive might not be the same colour as the new XBox.
