Which one to buy: Xbox or PS3?

XBOX 360 or PS3? Which one should I buy?

  • XBOX is currently maxed out, but the PS3 has so much more potential. But i only have like $500 to burn and i dont know which one to buy

  • Answer:

As the other said, the Xbox may have some fun games, but PS3 will be getting its footing in even more soon, as soon as people realize, Blue ray is godly for games, as in you can put ALOT more detail, and depth in any game because of the lack of limits it gives, Xbox, it is okay but it has limtis, many of them. People call PS3 a(n) investment, which it is, and will pay back itself with great gaming and mvoies many times over. Plus BlockBuster, backs Blue Ray. (i'm saying this as an 360 owner mind you lol.

The PS3 is better. I tell you why. People don't realize that a Xbox 360 is still a DVD that holds a total of 4.7GB some DVDs you can get that has 7GB. A BLU RAY is 50GB you know how many DVD that is com-paired to one Blu Ray. What does that mean That mean for some of the game that both systems make XBox 360 must Compress there files which equals slower loading and even bad distortions. For example. GTA4. The release date was help back again because Xbox 360 clearly stated that there have trouble compress the whole file on to 1 DVD and the might make it 3 DVD. As for PS3 they only need one Disk. The games will get better with Technology. And Blu Ray is making it look sweet. But save your self the time get a PS3. Games will get better and you wont have a screen pop up during game play and say PLEASE INSERT DISK 2 or 3 or 4 Sony is a hardware company, and the PS3 is an astonishingly well-built and impressive piece of hardware. However, its future-proof design is new and difficult for many programmers to make best use of. Microsoft is a software company, and the 360 is very easy to understand and program. Sadly the hardware is pretty poor - low specification and ridiculously bad reliability. From the technical viewpoint, and in the long term, the PS3 is the better investment. Right now though the 360 library is much larger. For me the PS3 was the obvious choice - I browse the internet and watch YouTube videos; watch Blu-Ray discs and DVDs; have over 300 CDs stored in it; stream stuff from my PCs to the PS3; stream stuff to my PSPs from the PS3; and have spent at least 130 hours playing Oblivion, not counting Motorstorm, Flow, Super Stardust HD etc! If you want to play Halo3, you'll need a 360. If you want to play LittleBigPlanet, you'll need a PS3. The graphics are so close that they won't be the deciding factor. I think the PS3 offers the better value, but I use all its features. Recent studies have shown that PS3 owners use their machine more than 360 owners, but if you've just spent that much, you would, wouldn't you?

reasons to buy xbox 360: good gameplay good games good graphics reasons to get a ps3: blu-ray player free internet play very small chance of breaking (0.3%), unlike xbox 360(33%) will have OVER 100 new titles in next year supports 7 controllers, all wireless free charger, unlike xbox 360 plays DVDs in HD with HDMI cable great graphics reasons NOT to get: Xbox 360: red ring of death almost inevitable (cannot be avoided) PS3: small video game selection AS OF RIGHT NOW so as you can see, they are both good in their own way. but the PS3 is the better buy.

ps3 no doubt, it plays blue ray(which a blue ray player by itslef is 600), there are 250 games going to be released by the end of next year, it has tilt sensitive wireless controllers, and it can have up to seven controllers connected at once, not to mention better graphics. I have one, no doubt, it's the bomb.

I think the PS3 is the best system out of any the three game systems because of A) Free online, which is also improving quite a bit B) Is somewhat cheaper than the Xbox 360 PS3: -----------Xbox 360: 60gb PS3-$500 -----------Xbox 360 Elite (120gb)- $450 HDMI slot-Free---------HDMI slot- Only with Elite Wifi-Free ----------Wifi- $99 Rechargeable Controllers-Free --------Recharge Kit- $20 Online-Free -----------Online- $50 a year Blu-Ray Player-Free---------------HDDV... Player- $179 Total: $500 ----------------Total: $798 You might not use these accessories, so that’s why I say the PS3 is “somewhat cheaper” Also why I said you have to get an Elite to compare it to the PS3 is because the elite is the only 360 console that has HDMI, which basically means it’s the only package that can get you true High-Def. C) Has great exclusives coming out and all of these are different variety: Heavenly Sword, Lair, Eight Days, Warhawk, Metal Gear Solid 4, Metal Gear Online, Killzone 2, Grand Turismo 5, Little Big Planet, Getaway 3, Driver 5, God of War III, Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Jax and Daxter: Lost Frontier, Motorstorm, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, Resistance: Fall of Man, SOCOM: Confrontation, Tekken 6, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, and White Knight Story. That’s all the games I can think of over 5 minutes. Ok, now onto the boring stuff… D) The PS3 is superior due to cell technology. This allows the PS3 to produce complex graphics far superior to any other console. The PS3 has a little over 2tfps and the Xbox 360 has 1. This basically means how well the system can do generating backgrounds like rain, clouds, etc. It also has to do with the amount of realism in graphical explosions and destruction scenes. The down side is however that it will be a while until game producers can max its potential because the cell processor is somewhat new in technology. That’s why games on the Xbox 360 look somewhat better right now. However, in about a year or two the PS3 will have better graphics. This is somewhat good too because then Sony wont have to make another console as soon because the PS3 has room to grow with technology, but then again nobody knows what technology can do in 5 years. E) PS3 will probably be the better quality as in life span. Many Xbox 360s are already having hardware problems (25%-33% Xbox 360 have 3 red rings of death) when there has only been a reported 1% failure chance with the PS3. PS3 also has an emergency shut down feature, so if you PS3 overheats it will automatically shutdown until it is out of a dangerous temperature. F) The PS3 has Blu-Ray. Blu-ray is a new type of video disc that allows movies and games to be more Hi-Def. The Blu-ray disc can hold up to 50gb allowing game developers to develop a longer game, better graphics, etc. The Xbox 360 only uses its game on classic DVD discs, which can only hold around 8 or 10gb depending on what type of DVD. Basically this means Xbox 360 games will have to be put on 2 discs in the future (for really big games) Xbox 360 is not a bad system and has great games, but the extra 100 bucks are worth buying the PS3.

PS3!!

You should buy the PS3. It has really good graphics and it also can play PS2 games and has a Blu-Ray player programmed inside. The Blu-Ray movies are only playable on that player and it's very clear and high quality.

yesno.

Well It depends on if you wanna wait or not. See the Xbox 360 has a huge assortment of games and many of them being good. The PS3 has only like 2 must buys. (Resistance fall of man and Heavenly Sword) But with the new Ratchet and Clank Game and Metal Gear Solid 4 coming to PS3 and not Xbox 360 there will soon be a lot of buzz about those great games. Hope this helps you decide.
