How can I get my hamster to stop chewing on the bars of her cage? Her wooden chew toys & salt block don't help

u need to get her chew sticks they will help her teeth so she does not chew on the bars

i had gerbils with that same problem what i did was i rubbed this special chocolate for small rodents on the wooden knawing toys and eventully they started using it i would also recomend card board tubes

Hamster apple bitter spray works great, but the chewing should stop asap. her teeth could be jammed into her brain killing her if she chews enough. i would highly recomend getting a bin cage

Sorry. There is nothing you can do. My hamster did this all his life....................................... they just like to chew on the bars of a cage but don't get a plastic cage. They are horrible

Hamsters are curious, they like chewing everything but by experiencing they´ll learn. Do not worry she won´t break a tooth, and if so, it´ll grow again, just let her chew asome time and she´ll know she shouldn´t be chewing that, my hamsters did so once, they liked chewing their wheel until they learned not to. You can also get her something new and interesting for her to play with.

Find a piece of Hickory, fresh cut,not a rotten piece that fell off the tree. Cut it off if ya have to. Also a piece of Wild Cherry tree as they love them and they are a hardwood, along with oak and poplar. get these from the woods, not a pet shop

We used the rectangular aquarium for our hamster. They can't climb up the glass either, with a screen top on they get plenty of air. The water bottle has to hang inside of it obviously. You really can't stop them from chewing, they just do what they do!!

My rabbit does the same thing and always sticks his nose through the cage, he has a ball to play with as well but never plays with it, but nothing has happend to his teeth so i think her teeth should be fine.
