char-lay are actually French, and it is spelled Charolais. go to amazon.com and type in Brown Swiss Cattle and look at the books that appear. The do the same for Charolais cattle. Several books come up. Also- Brown Swiss are dairy cattle, and Charolais are beef cattle. Both breeds should be maintained very differently. SO- a Dairy or Beef Cattle book may help him as much as anything.
