  Not exactly. It was a huge fad about 15 or so years ago, people became interested in them and the price shot way up. Higher prices meant people wanted in on this, so all of a sudden you saw emus everywhere, the market flooded and the price dropped. I would not even bother with these unless you knew there was a market for them in your area. Then just figure out about what you can sell them for and what it would cost to raise them. If it looks worthwhile then go for it, chances are it won't unless you're somewhere that has demand and you can keep your costs down.
