How can we fix endangered species like the Gray Fox from not becoming extinct?

First I would recommend not listening to people or organizations that place animal rights over human rights or you will receive a very skewed view of what options are available; regardless of what these people/organizations say people and animals can easily co-exist. The Gray Fox's diet consists of small rodents, berries, and insects such as crickets and grasshoppers. The Gray Fox lives primarily in wooded areas. Housing developments can be created in an environmentally friendly method; in this case you could create housing areas that would have a minimum lot size with mandatory wooded areas that development could not encroach on, as well as neighborhood covenants that would require the residents to be good stewards over the Gray Fox. Water run-off can be channeled away from from the protected areas so that it would not impact the Gray Foxes environment. Of course this is a simplistic explanation of what would need to be done in an neighborhood development because minimizing the impact while improving the environment for wildlife is slightly more complicated it would require to much text to cover in this note, I would recommend speaking to someone in your County Planning Office for names of developers who do this type of work, then interview them for a more definitive approach to this type of development. It has been researched by experts and the fact remains. There are around 25 different species that go extinct everyday. The gray fox is no different than any other organism. Along with that fact goes the fact that there are several new species found everyday. It may be true that humans may have had a huge hand in why the foxes are going extinct, but please believe me, we will not be around forever. We may take a little longer than other species to go extinct, but remember when you were taught that dinosaurs once ruled the earth? They were enormous and very well fit to their environments, but supposedly a huge meteor hit the earth and the dinosaurs became extinct. They ruled the earth for MILLIONS of years. Humans may have only been here for what, a couple hundred thousand years if that? Every species has its time to go extinct and I believe we are no different. It is just the fox's time. We can try to interfere with this fact as much as we want and try to save them, but I would bet that in a few million years, they, along with us, will be extinct. If you need some B.S. answer for your project though, I would tell the teacher that we need to locate every gray fox in existence and put them into a shelter, or something to that extent as with what we have done with giant pandas where their chances of survival would increase.
