How do I legally upload images to Wikipedia's Commons site and implement them into articles?

    Images from Google is a no no. Only free images are allowed on commons, those under one of the following licenses: *GFDL *CC-BY *CC-BY-SA *Public domain *Some other less common licenses like BSD, MPL are also acceptable If you are the creator of an image then you can upload it under whatever license you pick from the above. You must provide the source of the image and add a valid license tag. Other than your image library you can use the "Advanced search" option on flickr to look for free content available for commercial use. There are some other sources here : http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Free_image_resources If you can contact the author of an image and they are willing to release it under one of the free licenses then you can forward permissions to OTRS : http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/COM:OTRS
