How do I change a picture on Wikipedia?

How can i change wikipedia picture?

  • i want to change emma watson wikipedia picture can i do it? cause the picture is not good please i want to know

  • Answer:

First, you need to log in. Then from the menu on the left (under the blank) select upload file. Browse your computer and upload the file you wish to. This will also give you several choices as to where the picture came from. You will need to rename the file as well as describe where it came from. Then when you go to the edit page, change the file name to whatever you named your .jpg. i.e... if you named your file divix.jpg, then change whatever the current image is to divix.jpg. You can do a 'show preview' to make sure the picture is the correct one. So if the coding is: Image=Caption.jpg Change it to: Image=divix.jpg

Other answers

You need an account to upload a picture, and you've gotta make it clear there's no copyright on it. But if the picture is already "on Wikipedia" (as a "File:" page), then you can just swap it out on the article page, you don't need an account for that. Just hit edit, look through the page markup until you find where the picture you wanna change is, then delete the text that states the actual current picture's name (for the picture at the top, it's "Emma Watson GoF Premiere Crop.jpg") and replace it with the new picture's name. That article has just been unprotected, so you can just go in without an account and swap pictures.
